The calendar file works with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook. Each payment is added as an all-day event with a reminder the day before, so you are told the money is coming rather than having to remember to look.
There is a rule, and it is not the one you have read
Most pages tell you the dates “vary” or land “near the end of the month”. They do neither. Payments fall on the third-last business day of the month — that reproduces 22 of the 24 published 2025 and 2026 dates exactly.
September looks like an exception and is not: 30 September is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a federal holiday, so the third-last business day is the 25th — which is exactly what the calendar says, in both years.
The only real exception is December, moved early so the money lands before the holidays: Tuesday, December 22, 2026 this year.
If the money has not arrived
- 1Check the date above rather than your memory of it — the day of the month moves, so “it is usually the 27th” is wrong about four months a year.
- 2Wait five business days. Service Canada asks for this before treating a payment as missing; your own bank's processing is the usual cause of a one or two day delay.
- 3Then call Service Canada on 1-800-277-9914. Have your Social Insurance Number to hand.
A changed bank account that was never updated with Service Canada is the commonest reason a deposit silently stops.
2027 dates: not published yet
Estimate, not officialService Canada usually publishes the following year's calendar in the autumn. These are what the third-last-business-day rule produces for 2027. The same rule reproduces every published 2025 and 2026 date except the two Decembers, so it is a good estimate — but it is an estimate, and you should not arrange a payment around it.
| Month | Likely date | Day |
|---|---|---|
| January | January 27, 2027 | Wednesday |
| February | February 24, 2027 | Wednesday |
| March | March 29, 2027 | Monday |
| April | April 28, 2027 | Wednesday |
| May | May 27, 2027 | Thursday |
| June | June 28, 2027 | Monday |
| July | July 28, 2027 | Wednesday |
| August | August 27, 2027 | Friday |
| September | September 27, 2027 | Monday |
| October | October 27, 2027 | Wednesday |
| November | November 26, 2027 | Friday |
| December | Moved earlier for the holidays — 22 December in both 2025 and 2026, but that is a decision rather than a rule, so it is not projected here. | |
What arrives on these dates
- Canada Pension Plan (CPP) retirement pension
- CPP disability, survivor and children's benefits
- Old Age Security (OAS) pension
- Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
- Allowance and Allowance for the Survivor
The Canada Child Benefit, the GST/HST credit and the Canada Disability Benefit run on their own separate calendars.
Knowing the date is half the question
The other half is how much lands. The maximum CPP retirement pension at 65 is $1,507.65 a month in 2026, but the average actually paid to new recipients is $877.01 — and where you fall between them depends on your earnings history and the age you start.
Common questions
When is CPP paid this month?
CPP is paid once a month, near the end of the month. The 2026 dates are January 28, February 25, March 27, April 28, May 27, June 26, July 29, August 27, September 25, October 28, November 26, December 22. The panel at the top of this page works out the next one from today's date, so you do not have to read the list.
When does CPP come out this month?
On the third-last business day of the month, in every month except December. Direct deposits are normally available on the morning of that date, though the exact hour depends on your bank. December is paid earlier so it lands before the holidays — 22 December in both 2025 and 2026.
What are the CPP payment dates for 2026?
January 28, February 25, March 27, April 28, May 27, June 26, July 29, August 27, September 25, October 28, November 26, December 22. These are transcribed from the Government of Canada benefit calendar and every one of them falls on the third-last business day of its month, except December, which is moved earlier.
What were the CPP payment dates for 2025?
January 29, February 26, March 27, April 28, May 28, June 26, July 29, August 27, September 25, October 29, November 26, December 22. They are kept on this page because people reconciling a tax year or checking an old deposit need them, and because they show the rule holding across two different years.
Are CPP and OAS paid on the same day?
Yes. The Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, the Guaranteed Income Supplement, the Allowance and the Allowance for the Survivor are all paid on the same date each month. If you receive both CPP and OAS they arrive together, usually as separate deposit lines.
What if my CPP payment has not arrived?
Service Canada asks you to wait five business days after the payment date before reporting it missing — cheques are mailed and direct deposits can be delayed by your own bank's processing. After that, contact Service Canada at 1-800-277-9914. The commonest causes are a changed bank account that was never updated and a cheque sent to an old address.
When will the 2027 payment dates be published?
Service Canada usually publishes the following year's benefit calendar in the autumn. This page shows the 2027 dates the third-last-business-day rule produces, clearly marked as an estimate, and replaces them with the official ones as soon as they are released.
Dates transcribed from the Government of Canada benefit payment calendar and checked against it on 18 August 2026. 2027 dates are this site's own projection and are not official. Payments are issued on the dates shown but can take a few days to reach an account.
